Job Description

Job Title: Block Manager – High-Rise Residential (RC Frame) Location: Bristol Employment Type: Freelance or Permanent (Flexible) Salary/Rate: Competitive – DOE (Day rate or salary + package available) The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Block Manager to join a major high-rise residential development in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale reinforced concrete (RC) frame scheme delivering high-quality homes as part of a flagship city-centre project. The role is available on either a freelance contract or permanent basis, offering flexibility depending on candidate preference. Key Responsibilities Manage a designated residential block from late construction through to handover and occupation Coordinate with site management, subcontractors, consultants, and client teams Oversee internal fit-out, finishes, and quality assurance within the block Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve on-site issues efficiently Support commissioning, snagging, and handover processes Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders and residents where required Drive high standards of health & safety and quality compliance Requirements Proven experience as a Block Manager, Senior Finishing Manager, or similar role on residential schemes Strong background delivering high-rise RC frame developments Experience managing internal packages and finishing trades Excellent organisational and coordination skills Strong understanding of QA processes and handover procedures SMSTS, CSCS (Black/White), and First Aid preferred Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced construction environment What’s on Offer Major city-centre development with long-term pipeline potential Flexible engagement: freelance day rate or permanent employment Competitive remuneration depending on experience Opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering high-quality residential schemes
