Job Description

Job Title: Children’s Contact Worker Reporting to: Contact Coordinator Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Contact Worker to support children in care to maintain safe and meaningful relationships with their families. Our work is guided by five core values: One Team Accountability and Responsibility Quality and Innovation Relationships High Support, High Challenge The Role As a Children’s Contact Worker, you will be responsible for supporting and supervising contact sessions between children in care and their families. You will ensure that these interactions take place safely, positively, and in line with care plans and safeguarding requirements. You will play a key role in helping children maintain important family relationships while observing and reporting on the wellbeing and safety of all involved. Key Responsibilities Safely collect and transport children and young people from their placement to the contact venue and return them once contact has concluded. Supervise contact sessions between children and their parents or family members in accordance with agreed care plans. Ensure that contact procedures and safeguarding requirements are followed at all times. Produce clear and accurate written reports following each contact session. Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the Contact Manager and allocated Social Worker. Support the service duty arrangements when required. Use relevant IT systems and computer applications to record and manage information. Ensure contact rooms are safe, tidy and compliant with Health & Safety requirements. Attend training sessions and team meetings as required. Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role and grading. Supervision You will report directly to the Contact Coordinator and receive regular supervision with your work reviewed and supported to ensure high standards of practice. Safeguarding & Compliance This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
