An established and highly respected food production business is seeking a proactive Shift Engineering Manager to lead a multi-skilled engineering team, ensuring the plant runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of operational performance.

The Role

  * 

    Lead and develop a team of engineers across planned, reactive, and improvement work.

  * 

    Work closely with Operations to prioritise tasks and minimise downtime.

  * 

    Support complex mechanical/electrical tasks when needed.

  * 

    Ensure strong safety, compliance, and GMP standards.

  * 

    Own shift handovers, maintenance records, and engineering communication.

  * 

    Drive continuous improvement and help build a high-performing team culture.

What You’ll Bring

  * 

    Time-served Mechanical/Electrical engineer (multi-skilled ideal).

  * 

    Experience leading engineering teams in manufacturing (food/FMCG preferred).

  * 

    Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills.

  * 

    Calm under pressure, safety first mindset, and good with maintenance systems.
