Head of Release Management - 6-Month Contract (Inside IR35)
Location: London (Hybrid)
My client, a leading investment bank is looking for a Head of Release Management for a greenfield role to establish and mature a centralised release and environment management function across EMEA. This is a unique opportunity to shape strategy and drive transformation toward Continuous Delivery (CD) and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
Define and implement a multi-year roadmap for release and environment management.
Own end-to-end release lifecycle governance aligned with SDLC and regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with DORA, FCA/PRA, and ISO 27001.
Oversee non-production environments, enforce lifecycle policies, and maintain audit-ready controls.
Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Essential Experience
Proven leadership in release and environment management within financial services/banking.
DORA compliance and regulatory frameworks a strong plus
Expertise in CI/CD toolchains, DevOps principles, and modern architecture (microservices, cloud-native).
Familiarity with ITIL, scaled agile frameworks (SAFe), and SDLC methodologies.
