HLTA – Supply Roles – Carlisle
Start Date: Ongoing from September 2026
Contract Type: Flexible – Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term

Paragon Education is recruiting experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work on a supply basis across primary and secondary schools in Carlisle and the surrounding areas.

This role is ideal for HLTAs who are looking for flexibility while continuing to take on a varied role within the classroom. You may be required to lead whole-class sessions, cover lessons in the absence of a teacher, and provide targeted support to pupils across different key stages.

Responsibilities:
Deliver pre-planned lessons and lead whole-class teaching when required
Provide small-group and intervention support across a range of subjects
Support pupils with varying abilities, including those with additional needs
Assist with classroom management and maintaining positive behaviour
Adapt quickly to different school environments and expectations
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and senior leaders

Requirements:
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience – essential
Experience working in UK school settings
Confident delivering lessons and leading classroom activities
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
Flexible, reliable and professional approach
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
