Job Description

Role: Business Development Manager

Location: Immingham or Mercia Park (DE12) (with customer travel as required)

Our Road Freight Division is growing, and we’re looking for someone who understands the industry, enjoys building relationships, and is motivated to help customers find the right solutions. You don't need to be an established salesperson—we’ll support you in developing your sales skills and growing your career in business development.

What will you be doing?

  * Growing our Road business by identifying new opportunities and building strong customer relationships.

  * Working towards agreed growth targets as part of the wider company strategy.

  * Promoting our services to both new and existing clients, ensuring we offer solutions that add value and deliver profitability.

  * Developing your commercial skillset with the support of experienced colleagues and tailored training.

About You

You might have worked in roles such as operations, planning, customer service, or account management within road freight—and now want to progress into a more commercial, customer-facing path.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  * Experience in road freight (international groupage or UK domestic distribution).

  * An understanding of the services and challenges within the industry.

  * A genuine interest in developing into a business development role.

  * Confidence working with customers and building relationships.

  * A proactive, self‑motivated approach with the ability to plan your workload and work independently.

  * Good communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills.
