Roles and Responsibilities
* Ensure safeguarding is prioritised at all times, particularly during changing-room supervision
* Deliver engaging, high-quality and purposeful PE lessons across KS3–KS4 (KS5 is desirable) that promote skill development and enjoyment of sport
* Teach a broad range of activities including team sports, individual sports, athletics, fitness and outdoor activities
* Promote health, fitness and wellbeing as a core part of school life
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing targeted feedback to help every learner succeed
* Demonstrate strong classroom management skills following the school’s behaviour policy
* Support the school’s values through positive relationships, respect and a commitment to student wellbeing
* Engage in continuous professional learning, embracing feedback and contribute to departmental excellence
Ideal Candidate:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Read the DfE ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (2025 document)
* Proven experience teaching Physical Education at secondary level following the National Curriculum
* Right to Work in the UK (No Limitations)
* Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (Child Workforce listed)
* Teaching reference checks covering the last 2 years
