Job Title: Senior Support Worker / Support Worker
Location: Leyland, Lancashire
Role Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join a dynamic team in a role that involves supporting adults with complex needs, including learning disabilities and behavioural challenges, in a community setting. Your focus will be on promoting independence, providing high-quality, person-centered care, and making a real difference in the lives of those you support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to adults with learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs.
Promote independence, personal development, and well-being through tailored support plans.
Assist individuals with daily tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, and household duties.
Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes dignity, respect, and empowerment.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that individuals receive the best possible care.
Support individuals to engage in meaningful community activities and develop life skills.
Monitor and report on the well-being and progress of service users, adapting care plans as needed.
Senior Support Workers may be expected to take on additional responsibilities, such as supervising and mentoring junior staff, managing shifts, and supporting with training.
Shift Pattern:
Full-time, 37 hours per week
A combination of early (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM) and late (4:00 PM - 11:00 PM) shifts
2 sleep-in shifts per week (paid at £65 per sleep-in)
Salary:
Support Worker: £12.21 per hour
Senior Support Worker: £13.50 per hour
Qualifications & Experience:
NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care is preferred.
Care Certificate or willingness to complete relevant training.
A good understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control practices.
Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate individuals with a variety of needs.
A compassionate, person-centered approach with a focus on promoting independence.
Drivers preferred due to the nature of the role and the community-based setting.

Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
